Mimosas & MiNosas

That is the question……..
We offer both in our home, and believe that non-alcoholic drinks should be equally as festive as alcoholic drinks.

Making Mimosas are simple but there is a process and order to follow…….
To make the ultimate Mimosa, start with a d r y sparkling wine. Many good ones are available at affordable prices. My favorite is Saint-Hilaire, a dry French Sparkling wine packaged in the most beautiful bottle.

Classic Mimosas call for equal amounts of orange juice and alcohol, but I prefer more wine and less orange juice, and suggest 2/3 sparkling wine and 1/3 orange juice.
Pour the sparkling wine into a champagne flute and top with orange juice. Following this order lets the drink mix together naturally – DO NOT STIR.

Did you know stirring will cause the alcohol to go flat?
** For a French twist on this classic, top the mimosa with 1/2 ounce of Grand Marnier.

For a festive touch, I turn to SEEDLIP. Seedlip Spirits are non-alcoholic distilled spirits, completely sugar & sweetener free with no artificial flavors.

The company offers three different spirits. For MiNosas, I use Seedlip Grove 42, a citrus blend of oranges, with ginger & lemongrass.

To build the MiNosa, use the same proportions as the Mimosa: 2/3 Seedlip to 1/3 orange juice. Begin with the Seedlip, add the Orange Juice and top with a splash of fresh Club Soda. Do not stir and do not substitute the Club Soda with Sparkling Water!
